Suspects Lead Deputies on Chase After Smoke Shop Robbery

Hacienda Heights, Los Angeles County, CA: The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station deputies were in pursuit of suspects early Tuesday morning, Oct. 18, after a robbery at a smoke shop in Hacienda Heights.

The LASD Industry Station received a burglary call around 4:25 a.m. at the CBD Smoke Shop on the 1200 block of South Hacienda Boulevard and the 60 Freeway. The owner of the business observed the suspects stealing property from the shop on surveillance cameras.

Once sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene, they located a vehicle parked to the front of the shop. The suspects in the vehicle immediately fled the scene getting onto the westbound 60 Freeway from Hacienda Boulevard leading sheriff’s deputies on a chase.

The suspects quickly started tossing baggies of weed out the window on westbound 60 Freeway at Crossroads Parkway North.

LASD canceled the pursuit due to heavy traffic on the westbound 60 Freeway at San Gabriel Boulevard.

It is unknown if deputies were able to recover the tossed evidence on the 60 Freeway and apprehend the suspects.
