Traffic Collision Shears Hydrant Sending Water Skyward

City of Industry, Los Angeles County, CA: A vehicle slammed into a hydrant sending gallons of water gushing skyward early Sunday morning, June 26, 2022.

Los Angeles County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol received a call of a traffic collision with a fire hydrant at around 2:45 a.m. on Valley Boulevard and Azusa Way in the City of Industry in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County.

The hydrant was sheared and gushing water when CHP arrived on the scene. Officers noticed that three suspects drove off and pulled into a parking lot nearby. Firefighters arrived and started turning off the hydrant, however, they called the water company to shut off the hydrant.

None of the suspects were injured and no one was transported to a hospital.
