Hacienda Heights, Los Angeles County, CA: A single vehicle ignited a brush fire after crashing through a guardrail and plunging down a steep, canyon hillside where it came to rest at the bottom with one occupant inside.

California Highway Patrol received a call at approximately 3:23 p.m. Friday, May 13, of a vehicle over the side of a cliff on Turnbull Canyon and Skyline in Hacienda Heights.
Upon arrival, the Los Angeles County Fire Department located a vehicle over the side in steep terrain with one occupant still inside. LACoFD also reported the vehicle was catching fire, igniting a brush fire. Additional fire resources responded to the scene and extricated the patient from the vehicle in challenging terrain.
L.A. County Fire helicopters responded to conduct water drops to contain the brush fire. Wild land fire fighters arrived as well to assess the situation.
The patient was transported by Care Ambulance to a local hospital in unknown condition. Road Rage was suspected to be the cause of the crash.
