Porter Ranch, Los Angeles, CA: A fatal head-on traffic collision occurred when a vehicle traveling the wrong way on the 118 Freeway collided with a truck killing the driver of the vehicle early Sunday morning, Mar. 5, in the Porter Ranch area.
According to information from California Highway Patrol, the first CHP unit was assigned at 4:27 a.m. for a reported black vehicle traveling the wrong way on the 118 Freeway, heading eastbound in westbound lanes.
Later, the vehicle crashed into a box truck head-on at the Tampa off-ramp leaving the party deceased at the scene when paramedics arrived.
CHP issued a SigAlert at 4:52 a.m. for the Tampa off-ramp and number 3 and 4 lanes on the freeway.
The driver of the box truck was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance due to injuries.
