Long Beach, Los Angeles County, CA: A single-vehicle crash with one person ejected occurred early Saturday morning on the 47 Freeway in the city of Long Beach.

California Highway Patrol, Long Beach Police Department and Long Beach Fire resources were dispatched around 12:09 a.m. Apr. 23, for a single-vehicle collision on the 47 Freeway near Pier Street.

First arriving units discovered a solo vehicle on its side with one male ejected on the right shoulder. Long Beach Fire Department Paramedics immediately started providing medical aid and transported the patient to a local hospital in serious condition.

It is not known exactly how the crash occurred, but speed may be a factor. CHP issued a SigAlert for an unknown duration due to the accident.
