California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision with one person trapped on the eastbound 210 Freeway at Grand Avenue in the city of Glendora around 2:26 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 15.

Once CHP officers and firefighters arrived on scene, they located a vehicle that rear-ended a semi truck that was stalled in the number two lane on the freeway.

The trapped driver inside the wrecked vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene by firefighters.

The LAPD confirmed later Saturday morning that the deceased was an LAPD officer.
