1 Killed in Shooting Near Long Beach Grand Prix

LONG BEACH, Calif., Apr. 13 (KNN) — A man was shot in downtown Long Beach near the Grand Prix event on Cedar Walk just before 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The victim was transported to the hospital, where he later died, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

In a press release update Sunday from the Long Beach PD, the preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was engaged in a verbal dispute with one suspect, possibly more, resulting in the shooting of the victim. The details of the circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released, pending notification of the next of kin.
