The home invasion was reported to police around 1:00 a.m. Mar. 23, in the 2500 block of Carmen Crest Drive.

LAPD Hollywood Division officers responded to the location and met with the victims. The victims were not sure if the suspects had fled the location or were still in the area. Officers conducted a search and determined the suspects had fled, according to Sgt. Leo Guillen of Los Angeles Police Department Hollywood Division interviewed at the scene by Key News Network.

Four people total were held at gunpoint and property was taken from the residence, said Guillen. The value of the property is currently not known. No one was injured, and the victims declined medical attention.

As far as suspect information, Guillen said there was a sedan with four individuals who parked down the street, entered the residence and made contact with only one person in the residence. The suspect demanded property at gunpoint and then fled with the victim’s property. The individual that was the victim that was approached was asleep, said Guillen. There was no sign of forced entry. The suspects were in possession of two handguns.

Guillen added that the residents had just moved to Los Angeles from out-of-state. It is unknown if the property is a rental. There is also no indication that the residents were followed home. Guillen said that home invasion robberies have “died down” a bit.

“This one was the first one in awhile in this area,” said Guillen.
