SYLMAR, LOS ANGELES, Dec. 7 (KNN) — An auto body shop in Sylmar erupted into flames early Thursday morning prompting a response from the Los Angeles Fire Department.

LAFD crews were dispatched at 12:17 a.m. to the 12800 block of North San Fernando Road for a one-story auto body shop engulfed in heavy flames. Arriving firefighters immediately went into offensive mode to fight the blaze.
Due to the intensity of the flames, firefighters switched to defensive mode to continue the battle. The LAFD reported that it took 68 firefighters 35 minutes to access, confine and extinguish the flames.
There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
