Surfers Shred Gnarly Waves at Surfer’s Point in Ventura

VENTURA, Calif., Dec. 29 (KNN) — Surfers took advantage of the high surf around 8 a.m. Friday at the aptly named Surfer’s Point in the city of Ventura.

High tide was expected just before 10 a.m. Offshore storms are pushing large waves to the California coastline.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is predicting extremely dangerous beach conditions through Saturday. Large waves,10-15 feet (sets to 20 feet) along with potentially damaging coastal flooding is predicted for the Ventura County Coast.

The Central Coast, Ventura County Coast, and Hermosa/Manhattan/Palos Verdes Beaches are the areas predicted to be the most significantly impacted by the dangerous surf, life-threatening rip currents and coastal flooding, according to the NWS.
