Hazardous Material Fire Prompts Evacuation of Commercial Business in Valencia

Valencia, Los Angeles County, CA: Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel extinguished what was believed to be a solvent fire at a commercial business by the name of “Woodward” located on the 25200 block of Rye Canyon Road in the unincorporated community of Valencia in Los Angeles County.

The fire was reported around 1:29 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, and the fire department mentioned it was material burning causing smoke to plume. The primary call was regarding a jet fuel spill, but was later clarified to be a solvent.

The LACoFD Hazmat Squad was called to the scene and all personnel was evacuated. No injuries were reported.
