Point Mugu, Ventura County, CA: The solo occupant trapped inside a sedan, succumbed to injuries sustained in a two-vehicle traffic collision involving a suspected DUI driver early Tuesday morning, Mar. 7, in Point Mugu.

California Highway Patrol Ventura officers responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision on SR-1 just north of Mugu Rock around 12:21 a.m.

The two vehicles involved were a white sedan and a black SUV. While en route, emergency personnel were advised that the solo occupant of the white sedan was pinned inside.

The driver of the white sedan was extricated and transported in critical condition to the hospital. The call regarding the traffic collision was later updated to a fatality by CHP after the reported death of the sedan driver.

Three occupants in the black SUV, not including the driver, were transported to the hospital in various conditions.

The driver of the black SUV was arrested on suspicion of DUI by CHP.
