Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA: Multiple bullet casings and shattered glass were seen scattered on the ground after a shooting injured a woman sitting inside a vehicle early Tuesday morning in the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The shooting occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m., Mar. 7, in a parking lot on Cherokee between Hollywood Boulevard and Selma Avenue.

A man and a woman were sitting inside their vehicle when an unknown suspect fired multiple rounds into their car.

The male was uninjured, but his female companion was struck by gunfire.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded along with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Division officers to the location.

The woman was transported to a local area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The incident was possibly prompted by a verbal altercation which allegedly occurred at a club earlier in the evening.

There are no further details at this time.
