Traffic Collision Involves Sheared Gushing Hydrant, Building Damage

Downtown Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA: The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving a sheared hydrant on the 1500 block of South Alameda Street Tuesday morning, Mar. 7, at approximately 1:30 a.m.

The gushing water heavily impacted a small commercial building nearby on the 1600 block of South Alameda Street causing significant structural damage, according to LAFD.

There were no reported injuries.

Firefighters attempted to slow the flow of water until the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power arrived at the scene.
