Pedestrian Struck, Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, Kern County, CA: A pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run traffic collision late Thursday evening.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the reported collision around 8:13 p.m., Apr. 13, on Weedpatch Highway and Blackburn Street in the city of Bakersfield.

When CHP officers arrived at the scene, they located a deceased male on the shoulder of the roadway.

The vehicle involved fled the scene.

CHP is handling the investigation.
