Ontario, San Bernardino County, CA: A driver was rushed to the hospital early Thursday morning after slamming into a light pole which left the vehicle bent in half around the pole.

Ontario Fire Department and police received a 911 call around 1:47 a.m. Apr. 13, regarding a traffic collision involving a truck wrapped around a pole with one person trapped inside on Jurupa Street and South Commerce Parkway in the city of Ontario.
Once officers and firefighters arrived on scene, they located a pickup truck that was completely wrapped around a light/traffic signal pole with the driver still trapped inside the vehicle.
Ontario firefighters used the Jaws of Life to cut the doors off and move the vehicle away from the pole to extricate the driver from the truck.
The driver was transported by ambulance with CPR in progress to a local hospital.
It is unknown at this time if speed or alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Ontario PD had both west and eastbound lanes of Jurupa Street closed as they investigated the traffic collision.
