Canyon Country, Los Angeles County, CA: A person was pronounced deceased from an apparent drowning in a gated swimming pool Wednesday night, Apr. 20, at a complex in the Canyon Country neighborhood of the city of Santa Clarita.

AMR ambulance, Los Angeles County Fire Department and Sheriff’s deputies from the Santa Clarita office responded to the scene where a person was found around 9:22 p.m. by tenants who reported a drowning in a gated swimming pool at American Beauty complex off Sierra Highway and American Beauty Drive.

Paramedics pronounced the person deceased at the scene. Sheriff’s deputies were not able to give a statement about the cause of death, age or gender at this time.

No other details are available regarding the incident. An investigation is ongoing at this time.
