Burglary Suspects Identify as LAPD Officers While Breaking Into Lake Balboa Home

LAKE BALBOA, LOS ANGELES, Dec. 28 (KNN) — Three suspects broke into a Lake Balboa home Wednesday evening while stating they were LAPD officers.

The burglary was reported just before 10 p.m. in the 7300 block of Forbes Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The suspects smashed through a back door window and forced access into the home. An older man and woman were seen at the home at the time of the robbery.

Suspects took a purse with miscellaneous items from the victims. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction on foot and out of view.

Responding LAPD officers took a “hot prowl” robbery report from the victims at the scene, according to the LAPD’s Media Relations Division.

All three suspects were described as males wearing black hoodies and dark clothing. LAPD’s West Valley Division is handling the investigation.
