NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES, Dec. 4 (KNN) — A vehicle slammed into a hydrant sending water gushing skyward Sunday night in a North Hollywood intersection.

A single-vehicle collision occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of North Tujunga Avenue and West Vanowen Street.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and found a dark colored sedan that had collided with a hydrant on the southeast corner. The male and female occupants were able to exit the vehicle on their own.
LAFD paramedics evaluated both the driver and passenger and released them at the scene. The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s personnel for water related issues responded to the location and was able to shut off the hydrant at approximately 10:00 p.m.
