CHP Pursuit Involves Fatal Shooting of Suspect in Winnetka; Gunshots Audible on Surveillance Video

WINNETKA, LOS ANGELES, Feb. 27 (KNN) — The California Highway Patrol was involved in a pursuit that ended in the shooting death of a suspect in the Winnetka neighborhood of Los Angeles.

CHP units initiated a pursuit of a vehicle in the 7200 block of Sunnybrae Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The vehicle entered a cul-de-sac, where CHP officers used deadly force on the suspect. Surveillance video captured the moment shots were fired, with the sound of gunshots audible.

The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene; however, details regarding the incident have not been released by authorities.

According to initial information, the Los Angeles Police Department is assisting the CHP with the investigation.
