Commercial Tire Shop Fire in Phoenix Consumes Tires; Damages Nearby Building, Semi-Truck

PHOENIX, Ariz., Mar. 4 (KNN) — The Phoenix Fire Department responded to reports of a dumpster fire near 23rd Avenue and McDowell Road just after 3:00 a.m. Monday.

Fire crews arrived and located a large pile of tires on fire in front of a commercial tire shop.

The fire was quickly balanced to a first alarm fire due to the large body of fire.

Firefighters positioned a ladder truck and set up an elevated master stream to attack the bulk of the fire. They gained control of the fire in approximately one hour.

The flames from the fire damaged the side of at least one building, and a semi-truck parked in the lot.
