Driver Arrested for DUI After Crashing Prius Through Wall, Landing in Backyard of Home

Pomona, Los Angeles County, CA: A person was arrested for driving under the influence after crashing through a privacy wall and landing in a backyard just feet away from impacting a home in the city of Pomona, Sunday, Sept. 25, around 11:46 p.m.

Pomona Police officers and Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision on the 600 block of Gleneagles Avenue where they located a Toyota Prius that had crashed through a wall on the property of a home and landed in the backyard, about 10 feet from crashing into a bedroom.

The driver was assessed by firefighters and paramedics and was not transported to a hospital. No one inside the house was injured and there was only damage to a back room window due to debris impact from the destroyed wall.

The driver was arrested for driving under the influence at the scene after officers administered a Field Sobriety Test.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on Orange Grove Avenue at Fairplex Drive when he went through the wall.
