Pursuit Suspect Rams Vehicles, Attempts to Burn Down Home with Female Inside

Norwalk, Los Angeles County, CA: A pursuit of a suspect ended in a dramatic way involving a disabled person, damaged parked vehicles and attempted house fire in the city of Norwalk early Monday morning, Sept. 26, around 1:00 a.m.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Norwalk Station was in pursuit of a vehicle that ended at the suspect’s residence on the 11500 block of Orr & Day Road and Esther Street. The suspect pulled into his driveway and started ramming vehicles along with sheriff’s department units that were parked in the driveway. One vehicle was rammed into a garage and a second one into the wall of the house.

The suspect then ran into the home and attempted to burn the house down.

There was one disabled female unable to leave the house as it was starting to catch on fire. Sheriff’s deputies ran into the house, carried the female out to safety and were able to take the suspect into custody.

Sheriff’s deputies managed to extinguish the fire before the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived on scene.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. It is unknown if the female rescued by the sheriff’s deputies from the house was transported or remained at the location.
