Homicide detectives from Operation Valley Bureau developed several leads and ultimately served two search warrants, according to LAPD.

The first warrant was served in Simi Valley on the morning of Apr. 26, 2022, where detectives located the suspect, identified as Timothy Kirkpatrick, 42, who initially refused to leave and barricaded at the location. He was eventually taken into custody without further incident, according to LAPD.

In the afternoon of that same day, detectives served the second warrant in Sherman Oaks where the second suspect, identified as Hakop Keloyan, 48, was located. He attempted to flee from the rear of the property but was taken into custody, according to LAPD.

LAPD said while detectives completed the (second) search warrant, detectives discovered an illegal marijuana grow in the subterranean garage. The Van Nuys Area Narcotics Enforcement Detail responded and removed hundreds of marijuana plants. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) responded and conducted a theft of electricity investigation.

Both suspects were arrested and booked for murder and are due in Van Nuys court for arraignment on Thursday, Apr. 28, 2022.
