PHOENIX, Ariz., Feb. 23 (KNN) — A violent solo vehicle crash into a tree left at least one dead, and the vehicle split in half in Phoenix overnight.

Police officers and Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision on Indian School Road west of 59th Avenue at approximately 1:45 a.m. Sunday.
Firefighters arrived to find a single-vehicle versus a tree collision. The sedan’s front half was found wrapped around the trunk of a large tree, and the rear half was found several feet to the west.
The Phoenix Police Department has confirmed that at least one person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A hard closure was established for Indian School Road, which stretched between 61st Avenue and 59th Avenue.
The closure was expected to remain in place for several hours while the Phoenix Police Vehicular Crimes Unit detectives investigate the crash.
