SOUTH LOS ANGELES, Feb. 24 (KNN) — A hit-and-run traffic collision left a juvenile pocket bike rider dead in the Green Meadows neighborhood of South Los Angeles early Sunday morning, and the LAPD’s South Traffic Division is seeking the public’s help in locating the driver.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Southeast Division units responded to initial reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at the intersection of South San Pedro and East 99th Streets around 2 a.m.
When officers arrived on the scene, they located a male with head trauma down on the road, not conscious and not breathing.
According to the LAPD, a male juvenile (victim) riding a pocket bike northbound on San Pedro Street, north of 99th Street, was struck by a dark-colored Toyota Corolla traveling northbound on San Pedro Street. The driver failed to stop and render aid after striking the rider, then abandoned the vehicle at the scene and fled on foot.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced the juvenile victim deceased.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, possibly in his 20s, with a heavy build. His vehicle was towed as evidence.
The LAPD’s South Traffic Division is handling the investigation and is urging anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward with any information regarding this felony hit-and-run.
