Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash off 14 Freeway

Newhall, Los Angeles County, CA: California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash off the 14 Freeway that occurred early Thursday morning in Newhall.

California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision on the Northbound 14 Freeway at the Newhall exit for a vehicle down the embankment around 12:13 a.m. May 5, 2022.

Upon arrival, firefighters found one vehicle with a solo occupant deceased at the location. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies were on the scene before the fire department and are assisting CHP with the investigation.

There was visible traffic collision damage in the rear and front of the vehicle. It is unknown at this time if this is possibly a hit-and-run collision.

CHP was seen looking from the freeway off-ramp to see if there were any visible tire marks.
