South Park, Los Angeles, CA: A man was in custody after stabbing a woman in the face in the 100 block of West 47th Street around 12:26 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022.
The man was in a verbal altercation prior to stabbing the female victim in the South Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Police Department Newton Division officers responded and took the knife-wielding man into custody without incident.
Los Angeles Fire Department responded, however the female victim declined transport to the hospital. The suspect was transported to a local area hospital for possible self-inflicted knife wounds. He was also under the influence of an unknown substance.
LAPD Newton Division is handling the investigation.
