Firefighters Battle Attic Blaze in South Los Angeles Home

Vermont-Slauson, Los Angeles, CA: Firefighters battled a raging attic fire in a South Los Angeles home overnight.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a house fire Friday morning, May 26, at approximately 2:21 a.m. on the 600 block of West 55th Street in the Vermont-Slauson neighborhood within South Los Angeles.

Firefighters arrived and found a single-story home with an attic fire and heavy smoke showing.

Crews were able to achieve knockdown of the intensely burning attic in approximately fifteen minutes. No one was home at the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
