Firefighters Battle Commercial Structure Fire in East Los Angeles

East Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, CA: Firefighters battled a blaze involving a structure that contains multiple businesses early Wednesday morning in the unincorporated area of East Los Angeles.

Los Angeles County firefighters responded to a commercial building fire at approximately 1:00 a.m. Nov. 30, on the 4400 block of Whittier Boulevard.

Crews arrived at the location and found a strip of connected businesses with fire showing.

Firefighters had not yet achieved an official knockdown at the time of this report, but the bulk of the flames were knocked down by 2:00 a.m.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department had traffic closed in both directions on Whittier while crews worked to control the flames.
