Firefighters Battle Commercial Structure Fire in South El Monte

South El Monte, Los Angeles County, CA: Los Angeles County Fire Department received a call around 11:16 a.m. Thursday, May 12, reporting a commercial structure fire on the 10300 block of Rush Street in the city of South El Monte.

LACoFD arrived on scene and reported a two-story building with flames and heavy smoke showing. Firefighters quickly attacked the flames, however about 10 minutes later, firefighters reported to dispatch for more resources which brought approximately 70 firefighters to battle the second alarm blaze.

LACoFD reported knockdown at approximately 12:17 p.m. There were no reported injuries to firefighters or civilians. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
