When crews arrived at the location, fire was showing through the roof in a one story row of commercial units. Two additional task forces were requested immediately.

By 9:23 p.m., LAFD reported the fire at Greater Alarm status. Heavy fire, at that point, appeared to be in at least two of the commercial units. Firefighters attacked the fire both offensively and defensively.

LAFD said there were reports of a possible person inside the fire unit but the individual was located outside and unharmed.

Part of the roof burned through over the original fire unit. LAFD reported truck companies were on the adjacent roofs working to prevent horizontal spread of fire to the other businesses. Additional crews were performing salvage operations inside the units to protect the contents from smoke and water damage.
