North Hills, Los Angeles, CA: The driver in a single-vehicle crash was extricated by firefighters from a severely damaged vehicle just before midnight Tuesday, May 10, in the North Hills neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of the traffic collision around 11:54 p.m. on the 9500 block of Lemona Avenue.
Arriving firefighters called for more resources to help extricate one person trapped in the driver seat in a severely damaged vehicle that appeared to have hit a brick curbside fixture, then came to rest in the street, trapping the driver.
LAFD used hydraulic tools in a coordinated effort to rescue the victim from the vehicle. The patient was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
