WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., May 2 (KNN) — A victim of a single-vehicle, fiery crash was pulled to safety by a good Samaritan early Thursday morning in Westlake Village.

Emergency responders from the California Highway Patrol in Moorpark, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and fire departments from Ventura and Los Angeles counties responded to reports of a fire around 3:22 a.m. on the southbound 101 Freeway, just north of Lindero Canyon Road.
When first responders arrived, they found a car engulfed in flames down an embankment. A brother and sister driving to Los Angeles International Airport noticed the fire and stopped to investigate.
The brother heard the screams of the trapped driver and was able to pull him to safety. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with burns and possible broken legs.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
