Hit-and-Run Crash Leaves Sheared Hydrant Gushing in Downtown Los Angeles

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Mar. 17 (KNN) — The Los Angeles Fire Department responded early Sunday morning to a sheared fire hydrant in the 800 block of South Alameda Street, located at the intersection of East Olympic Boulevard.

A vehicle reportedly struck the hydrant and fled the scene shortly after 2:30 a.m.

Emergency crews faced challenges in shutting off the water as a 75-foot geyser sprayed into nearby power lines, complicating their efforts.
