Multi-Freeway Vehicle Pursuit Ends with Missing Tire, Sparks Flying in DTLA

Downtown Los Angeles, CA: A pursuit that began in the Orange County area of a Honda minivan involved multiple freeways overnight before ending in Downtown Los Angeles with the suspect driving with a missing front tire and sparking rim early Tuesday morning , Dec. 27.

California Highway Patrol units took over the pursuit at the 405 and the 605 freeways northbound. The suspect continued northbound on the 405 to the 110 northbound into the Pasadena area.

The suspect eventually took the eastbound 210 Freeway into the San Gabriel Valley and then back southbound on the 605 Freeway.

The suspect hit a spike strip placed by CHP on the 605 southbound just south of Peck Road.

The suspect exited Whittier Boulevard and took that straight into Downtown Los Angeles to San Pedro and 2nd Street with a trail of CHP units on his tail and sparks flying from a front tire when he came to a stop on the rim.

The suspect was taken into custody by CHP. The vehicle was reportedly stolen.
