Northridge Shooting: Deadly Dispute Between 2 Men

Northridge, Los Angeles, CA: Detectives with Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide are seeking the public’s help in providing information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) involved in the murder of a 31-year-old male, Hispanic, Mission Hills resident.

LAPD released more details today regarding the shooting of a man found deceased in an apartment on Dearborn Street in Northridge near the CSUN campus.

Devonshire Area Patrol officers responded to a radio call of an “ADW Shots Fired”(Assault with a Deadly Weapon) in the 18400 block of Dearborn Street at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Mar. 11, 2022, according to LAPD.

Upon arrival, the officers observed the victim laying on the ground inside of a bedroom. He was suffering from a gunshot wound. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene, according to LAPD. The victim has not been identified pending notification of next of kin.

Operations Valley Bureau Homicide was contacted and assumed responsibility. Detectives discovered the suspect and the victim were involved in a dispute and the suspect armed himself with a handgun and shot the victim, LAPD stated in a news release. The suspect fled on foot. The victim did not live at the location.

The suspect is described as a 26-year-old male, Hispanic.
