Outside Fire Spreads to House in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA, Aug. 12 (KNN) — An outside fire apparently fueled by winds Saturday afternoon in Bakersfield, spread flames to a nearby home.

Kern County and Bakersfield Fire Departments responded to the 100 block of East Pacheco Road shortly before 3 p.m. for a reported structure fire.

Arriving firefighters observed a burning structure along with multiple fires burning outside blanketing the area with large plumes of gray and white smoke.

It was not immediately known how long it took the fire departments to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
