Pasadena Police Investigate Homicide

Pasadena, Los Angeles, CA: Pasadena Police Department responded to the 1700 block of North Fair Oaks Avenue Monday, May 2, at around 8:42 p.m. after receiving 911 calls and an alert of “Shots Fired” from the recently activated “ShotSpotter” gunfire detection system, stated Pasadena PD in a news release.

When officers arrived, they found an adult male down suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the common area of an apartment complex, according to the department. The male was unresponsive and pronounced deceased at the scene.

A large active crime scene was established in the residential neighborhood at the time of the incident as seen in Key News Network video from the location.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner and Pasadena PD have identified Eric Lynn Thomas, 28, a Pasadena resident, as the man found deceased at the location.

The suspect(s) and motive are unknown at this time, according to Pasadena PD.

Detectives from Pasadena Police Department’s Robbery Homicide Unit are continuing their investigation efforts, said Pasadena PD.
