Burbank, Los Angeles County, CA: A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in the city of Burbank Wednesday night.

Burbank Police Department and Burbank Fire Department responded to reports of a train versus pedestrian around 8:35 p.m. Apr. 20, near the intersection of Cahuenga and Vanowen Street where the fatally struck pedestrian was located.

First arriving units on the scene found one person beyond medical help. Burbank Police Department transferred the incident investigation to the Los Angeles Police Department North Hollywood Division because the deceased pedestrian was located outside of Burbank PD jurisdiction. The train stopped on the tracks in the Burbank area when the incident was initially reported to Burbank PD and fire department.

Police were at the scene investigating the incident. Coroner was notified to respond to the location.
