911 calls were received shortly after 3:00 a.m., Jan. 30, for a male reportedly walking in middle lanes of US-101 Freeway northbound in Downtown Los Angeles when he was struck by a Lexus sedan.

The sedan pulled over while a green SUV crashed trying to avoid the downed individual.

A Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department County jail bus stopped to assist and keep traffic away from the pedestrian until Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived to transport the victim to LAC+USC Medical Center.

All other parties declined medical transport and were taken off the freeway by California Highway Patrol Central Los Angeles officers for further investigation.

The freeway was briefly shut down during the incident.
