ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18 (KNN) — A hit-and-run traffic collision victim was transported to a hospital with lifesaving measures in progress and was later pronounced deceased, according to authorities.

The Los Angeles Fire Department and the Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire Division patrol units responded to a “vehicle versus pedestrian” call around 11:51 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of South Crenshaw and West Washington Boulevards in the Arlington Heights neighborhood within Central Los Angeles.
When emergency personnel arrived on scene, they located a victim down in the street.
The victim was transported with CPR in progress to a local hospital by LAFD paramedics. Around 12:48 a.m. Monday, the LAPD updated the incident to a fatality.
Witnesses told police a Toyota Camry struck the pedestrian and fled the scene.
