Sheared Hydrant Sends Water Gushing Skyward in Rosemead

Rosemead, Los Angeles County, CA: A fire hydrant was sheared early Thursday morning sending gallons of water gushing skyward and onto the street of the 2200 block of Walnut Grove Avenue in the city of Rosemead.

Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the location at approximately 3:06 a.m. May 19, along with Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies and shut down Walnut Grove Avenue as water was shooting at least 50 feet into the air.

Firefighters quickly found the shut-off valve located on the street. The cause of the sheared hydrant was not immediately known.
