Sheriff’s Department Investigates Shooting at Canyon Country Halloween Party

Canyon Country, Santa Clarita, CA: A shooting occurred at a Halloween party in the normally quiet Canyon Country neighborhood in the city of Santa Clarita Saturday night, Oct. 29, around 11:17 p.m.

There is currently no suspect information at this time regarding a shooting inside a residence in the 27700 block of Tambora Drive, east of Delight Street, that may be possibly gang related, according to Sergeant Edson with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Santa Clarita Valley Station.

More than 30 callers flooded 911 lines at the station after about six shots rang out, sending dozens of teens running from a house on the street.

Edson confirmed no one was injured in the shooting, however, one person suffered a minor injury fleeing the scene of the shooting.

The party was a mixture of juveniles and adults, Edson said. The number of adults and juveniles was not immediately known.

The investigation is ongoing, according to Edson.
