SOUTH LOS ANGELES, Feb. 11 (KNN) — The Los Angeles Police Department’s Southeast Division units responded to reports of a shooting victim in the area of Avalon Boulevard and 93rd Street in the Green Meadows neighborhood of South Los Angeles Monday night.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located an adult male down on the sidewalk in front of a church, suffering from a gunshot wound, according to authorities.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the wounded man to UCLA Harbor Hospital. According to a spokesperson for the LAPD, the victim was pronounced deceased.
A witness told officers that the victim was possibly trying to break into a residence, the LAPD spokesperson told Key News Network.
The spokesperson also told KNN that it’s unknown at this time if the shooting is gang-related.
South Bureau Homicide is investigating the fatal shooting.
