LANCASTER, Calif., Aug. 27 (KNN) – A situation unfolded Wednesday morning near 20th Street West and Lancaster Boulevard at 10:09 a.m. when deputies responded to reports of a man armed with a handgun inside a residence on Linda Avenue.

According to initial reports, a caller stated that his brother was firing shots into a bed inside the home. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies responded code 3, with the Mental Evaluation Team (MET) and Los Angeles County Fire units staging nearby as a precaution.
As the situation escalated, a Bearcat armored vehicle was dispatched from the Palmdale Station to assist deputies in making a safe entry. Shortly after, deputies entered the residence and discovered a stabbing victim inside. The victim, allegedly the shooting suspect, was quickly removed from the home and treated by paramedics before being transported to Antelope Valley Medical Center for further medical care.
Preliminary details suggest the stabbing may have been the result of a struggle inside the home, and investigators are looking into whether the suspect was stabbed in self-defense.
The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
