SUN VALLEY, LOS ANGELES, Dec. 17 (KNN) — A teen was struck and killed in a violent hit-and-run traffic collision Saturday night in the Sun Valley neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Police Department officers and fire department personnel responded to a crash with a possible ejection around 11:13 p.m. at the intersection of Strathern and White Streets.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a traffic collision involving an SUV and several parked vehicles along with two injured pedestrians.
Preliminary investigation into the crash by detectives indicates a silver 2007 Cadillac SUV was traveling recklessly at a high rate of speed eastbound Strathern when it lost control and hit several parked vehicles and a pedestrian walking on the roadway. Debris from the violent collision hit a second pedestrian who was walking on the sidewalk.
The driver and solo occupant of the Cadillac fled the scene on foot eastbound on Strathern Street.
LAFD paramedics transported both pedestrians to local hospitals. One pedestrian, identified as a male Hispanic juvenile approximately 15 years old, succumbed to his injuries. The other pedestrian was treated for moderate injuries and he is expected to recover, according to the LAPD.
The driver of the Cadillac was located and arrested after detectives and officers conducted several interviews and follow-ups. He has been identified as 22-year-old Joseph Delgado, a resident of the city of North Hills, and was booked at Van Nuys Jail for murder.
Key News Network video at the scene shows one person in police custody, but it is currently unclear if that man is the suspect driver of the Cadillac. There was a fight reported at the scene following the collision, however, there is no information regarding that incident at this time.
