Due to the downed, active power lines limiting access, firefighters located alternate routes to access the fire. Ten additional fire engines responded to assist. This was a small fire (less than 1/8 acre) and was not a wind driven fire, according to LAFD Spokesperson Margaret Stewart.

There were no evacuations in place and no immediate threat to any residences. The primary concern for LAFD was accessing the fire safely due to electrical hazard and to prevent the fire from extending into the large eucalyptus trees, according to LAFD.

LAFD Air Ops conducted a drop at the head of the fire. Drivers were requested to avoid the area due to congestion with LAFD apparatus.

LAFD Spokesperson Margaret Stewart reported knockdown at 4:56 p.m. Firefighters contained and extinguished the fire in 48 minutes, holding it to 1/4 acre.

No residences were damaged. Firefighters will remain on the scene for about 2 hours to conduct mop up operations and ensure no hot spots remain, according to LAFD. Beverley Hills Fire Department is also on the scene.

There were no injuries reported. The downed power lines remain an electrical hazard and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power are on the scene, according to LAFD.

It is unknown at this time how many residents may be affected by the power outage.

There are no further details.
