Claremont, CA: Just before midnight, Apr. 6, Claremont Police Department and Los Angeles County firefighters responded to the 400 block of West Auto Center Drive for reports of a vehicle into a structure.

Arriving engines located an SUV that had crashed through the outside wall of a commercial building and into an empty office with a “Space Available” sign displayed in the window.

The occupant of the vehicle had fled the scene. A major gas line ruptured and a heavy smell of gas was present in the air.
