Vermont-Slauson, Los Angeles, CA: A wounded gunshot victim trying to flee the location of a shooting collided with other vehicles at a South Los Angeles intersection on Sunday night, May 22. 2022.

Los Angeles Police Department officers from the 77th Division requested backup as an officer heard gunshots nearby while patrolling the area around 11:20 p.m. When they arrived at the intersection of Florence Avenue and Figueroa Street in the Vermont-Slauson neighborhood, they found three vehicles involved in a collision.

The driver of one of the vehicles involved in the collision was a victim of a gunshot wound. The victim, in his 20s, was driving a Chevy Impala traveling north on Figueroa with multiple bullet holes evident on the passenger side while he tried leaving a location after he was shot at.

The driver was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. The rest of the victims of the collision stayed at the scene while LAPD investigated the incident.

LAPD had the streets closed for about thee hours. There was no information regarding the suspect.
